English Language Learning Course for Transition

A Free English Language Non-credit Course for Young Adults

As part of the Youth in Transition: War, Migration, and Regenerative Possibilities research project, an English Language Non-credit Course will be offered, free of charge, at the University of Toronto (St. George Campus), October to December.

This non-credit course will provide special language instruction appropriate for young adults seeking to transition to Canadian postsecondary education.

In order to participate you must:
∙ Be between the ages of 18-35
∙ Be originally from the Middle East or North Africa
∙ Have migrated to Canada in the last five years
∙ Have residency status in Canada

You are not eligible to participate if you:
∙ Are already enrolled in a higher education institution (university or college)

Interested participants should:
∙ Be able to commit to class attendance, Fridays 1-4pm, October 5 to December 7
∙ Be able to read short texts in English
∙ Be interested in learning more about Canadian history and society, as well as war, international
migrations, and resettlement
